HALLOWEINER RACES

Rules: All entrants must be Dachshunds. This race requires 2 handlers: one at the starting line and the other at the finish line.

HOOT AND HOWL TALENT CONTEST

Saturday Only 3:30 PM

Have you been trying to break into show biz but just didn’t have those family connections? Or maybe your last performance got panned by some cranky judges and you only got a two paw rating. Don’t let that spook you! Shake it off and get ready to take the stage again. This is your big chance! If you’ve got a talent, don’t just bark about it, get your paws on stage and show us what you’re made of. You can win a prize!

Rules: Must be accompanied by owner. All props required for the act are the responsibility of the contestant.

‘LIL DEVIL RACERS

Saturday 12:15 PM & Sunday 3:30 PM

Boo to all those who think little dogs can’t run. This weekend you get to run like the devil and show them what you got! Sure, short legged dogs are cute but they have spirit and speed too! Here’s your chance to give a spine-chilling performance as you race to the finish line. I know you will show everyone just how fast a little dog can run!

Rules: All entrants must have legs no longer than 3". No Dachshunds permitted (see special Halloweiner Race). This race requires 2 handlers: one at the starting line and the other at the finish line.

SPELL-BINDING FRISBEE CHALLENGE

Saturday 3:15 PM & Sunday 12:00 PM

No witches flying here. Only flying discs and leaping dogs! Don’t be scared. You can do this. We all know our four legged friends love to run and jump. How ghastly can it be to catch a Frisbee? It’ll be a hoot and a howl for sure. 

Rules: Owner must participate as Frisbee thrower and coach!

“SPOOKTACULAR” MASQUERADE CONTEST

Saturday 2:45 PM (following the parade)

Sunday 1:45 PM (following the parade)

Creepy or ghoulish? Monstrous or glamorous? Thrilling or hilarious? Scary or just plain fun? Who will you “be” this year? Masquerade as your favorite character or be your favorite thing. Enter on your four paws or be transported on your very own float or chariot! Whatever your dream (or nightmare), make it happen at Fido's Festival USA®. Why not dress your whole family? Our human friends LOVE dressing up too so they are invited to participate in our competition. The more creative the better! 

Classes:

1. Best Canine Costume (any one dog)
2. Best Canine Group Costume (two or more dogs)   
3. Best Canine on a Float (Float is any decorated, non-motorized, wheeled mode of transportation that can push or pull your costumed dog or dogs safely)
4. Best Themed Human & Canine Ensemble    (Must include at least one dog and at least one human and a theme that includes everyone) 

Judging: 

Let’s face it. We canines are all “so cute” to coin a favorite human phrase. Choosing the “best of” is always such a challenge so we created criteria to lend a hand to our distinguished judging panel. This year judging in each of the categories will be based on uniqueness of concept and costume detail. Judges will observe the parade in a special seating area and will then be seated in the front of the stage as each category entry walks across our grand stage introduced by our emcee. 

WEB OF THRILLS AGILITY COMPETITION

Saturday 11:00 AM & Sunday 4:00 Pm

Climb it, jump it, scramble, seesaw, weave, or tunnel through our not-so-scary web of agility. We know you can do it! No witches or warlocks are permitted only our four-legged friends who will test their skills around the obsta-ghouls that await them. The fastest dog to complete the course is the winner.

Rules: Dogs will be timed and must be accompanied by a handler.

WHICH IS WITCH? LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST

Saturday 4:15 PM & Sunday 2:30 PM
A favorite from last year, this competition returns again this year. Is someone in your family starting to take on your good looks? Is it you who looks like your furry canine friend? How long have you and your best friend been together because rumor has it when you live with someone long enough they start to look just like you! If there is a hauntingly resemblance between you and one of your human family members, bring them to the festival and compete for a prize.

Rules: Look a-likes must appear on stage for judging!
